This product has been crafted with love, and we want it to be beautiful a long time. Please no dishwashers, water breaks down the joints and will roughen the wood surface with dishwasher heat. Also you will need to apply a mineral oil rub from time to time to protect the surface of the wood.
Please no other finishes, since you want to keep it food safe. If you don't intend it to be used for food, then by all means, paint or stain as you wish.
